No half day today as I hadn’t made up enough flexi time, poor show so had to work a Friday afternoon absolute disaster…..

We had a team meeting in the office this morning as we are all so far behind with our work so we will be offered overtime shortly, there may also be a problem as the union has called us out on strike although we await full details.
Cathy had a 15 mins rant about the union and what a bunch of ****** they were ,however Ricky disagreed …..and we thought that Cathy may remove his head from his shoulders with her apple knife.

Didn’t go out at night and stayed in, ‘The Sunshine’ gang were over tonight and Grant was posted on a mission to deepest Vietnam to find out what was going, but he could only report Rod Stewart music and some David Cassidy chat. Jason was allowed in at 9.20.

Met Alick in the Royal Scot for a beer, he has his suspicions about his landlord that he rents a room from in the village, he reckons the guy’s a wierdo. ‘What makes you think that?’…says I…’he keeps hanging around when I’m in says Alick’…’don’t jump to conclusions says I’ anyway we had our 2 beers and staggered out of the Royal Scot.

The Office set up as it currently stands;

The Boss – ‘Alan’ – looks like James Stewart the American actor- nice bloke but a bit of a wimp
No 2 – Roddy’ Datsun cherry and pool king at lunchtime – can be seen with a fag hanging out his gob generally looking for an angle on the colours.

The team

‘Cathy’ – 30 a day as minimum, ash tray is always stuffed with buts, coughs over a period of about 20 seconds then says she’s ‘feeling great today’ – not to be messed with though.
‘Caroline’- The green gunge queen – known for the longest gob in the office, on a clear day with a bit of wind known to hit the managers window.
‘Ricky-’ The singer, always Elvis Costello and always as happy as a pig in the gooey stuff.
‘Dave’- flowery shirt man, always three day growth and another fag devotee.
‘Jamie’music king, also not generally to be messed with…another fag devotee

It was Burns night so we had mince and tatties for tea, the trolley at work also celebrated Burns day by rolling out particulary awful black puddings for the morning rolls. Dave the higher grade officer – thinks he’s a football team mananger ,has added to the tax team with Jamie at full back and Stuart as centre forward that means that the team now numbers 4.

Went to Modern studies and had a pint of beer before hand, more communism to study will look forward to getting into the bit about the politics of the second world war’…it was your fault you started it, no it wasn’t…’

Dribble time for Jason at 10.00, very quiet no body about tonight, normally the bloke with the asmatic dog is out, you normally hear the dog before him padding round the corner of Bonaly Terrace. Saw the Capes’s plum trees in the cul de sac and for a few mins felt very guilty…..

So Cathy got through about 18 fags today that I could see,not bad but well sort of her all time record. Her cough still reverberates around the office and together with green gungy Caroline we have a fine healthy team to deal with the nations tax matters. Higher grade office Dave wants to start putting together a football team and fancies himeself as a bit of a manager so he is currently making a list with him as manager and me as goalkeeper- well its a start I suppose.

Watched a bit of TV and listed to ‘The Who’ until the tape mangled in the machine, I have pulled it out and taped sellotape round the break, doesn’t sound too bad, just sounds like one of ‘Moonies’ solo’s

Bed at 10.30 after taking ‘Mr Dribble’ for a dribble.

Cycled into work for 8.00am and met Jamie coming in on his Kamasaki clutching a number of albums including my ‘Free Story Canadian Limited Edition’, have checked it an seems to be ok. He’s given me some more Hendrix to listen to so I’ll listen to that this week.

Had a go in Fred’s Datsun Laurel tonight, will have to think about my driving test and lessons soon. Ken says he’ll take me out as he’s looking for a small car to get him to Napier.

Did some Modern Studies tonight mainly about the Communism, I still have a book from scholl which I should have handed back but it’s useful for some revision. Took the ‘wee lad’ out for a dribble by the blue huts, bed at 11.00

Took Jason up the hills as he needed a long walk to get rid of the smell, we went up to the top of the ‘white hill’ and started up Allemuir but the weather charged and we had to head for shlter as it poured down. However there was a fine view of the bridges in the distance and over into Fife.

Afternoon was football training at Campbell park, our game was cancelled as the ref couldn’t make it. I think we play the league leaders next week.

Watched the TV and saw a good play about a priest who fell in love with a shetland pony while out on his bike, it was a bit strange and a touch of the Monty Phython about it however it kept me amused on Sunday night. Listened to the radio for a bit then bed at 11.00

went out in the morning into town again to get a pair of trainers but there were none in the sale so came home. Went up to Fairmilehead in the afternoon to play badminton, the usual crowd were there and we went over to the shop to get a provision pack of sweets to see us throught he afternoon.

went out at night, down to the Royal Scot with Alick, Ken was meant to come down but couldn’t make it. We were awoken at 3.00am with Jason needing out for an emergency evacuation, it was too late and the back door took most of the contents as well as the steps and pathway.

Went in at 8.00am and then took a half day with the aquired hours saved over the week, met Ken in town and went into Greyfriars to look at the albums, Ken bought a couple of singles and I never got anything.

Went down to the Sports centre at night and played Dave at table tennis a cracking game that ended up in a draw.

Saw a good Hammer House of horror film later on with Peter Cushing as a witchfinder general chasing vampires all very predicable but good. Bed at 11.50

Played in a 5 a side tournment at the dome at Paties Road there were quite a few teams playing we lost in the Quarter final didn’t finish until about 10.30 so Fred came down and picked me up.

Not much happening at work today although another taxpayer turned up so it was panic stations, he was on holiday in Edinburgh and thought he’d just pop in -just our luck. Jamie crashed his bike in the car park into someone’s car… nothing too to bad only a small dent, I’m sure he’ll never notice.The most important thing was that he wasn’t carrying my ‘Free Canadian limited edition’ album at the time which he borrowed today. Bed about 11.30 ish

Went into work at 8.00am as usual and should be able to take a half day on Friday – hopefully. Now dealing with phones calls from the Tax payers, I don’t have a clue what they want so I pass them onto smokin’ joe Cathy to deal with. Trolley arrived at 10.30 pushed round by Norman. He is about 60 with a slouch a shuffle and a deep cough so you tend to hear him coming along the corrider before he’s any where near us. Ricky was singing Elvis Costello again much to the annoyance of Norman who likes peace and quiet, however Ricky got his black pudding so that shut him up for about 2 mins.

Went to Modern studies pretty boring but was made slightly better with a pint en route. Bed at 11.30
